Our Story

Flote was born in Leucadia, CA, in a tiny house five minutes from one of our favorite surf breaks in southern california. Around here, life has its own rhythm and flow. Mornings in the lineup, afternoon runs on Neptune and sunsets spent with cold beers and good company in the Beacons parking lot. It’s simple, unpolished and full of moments that just need to be lived, not overcomplicated.

Our mission is to be a lifestyle brand that embodies that spirit and soul of Encinitas; a community connected by the ocean, adventure and creativity. We envision Flote as a way for people to carry that spirit with them. Weather floating in the lineup, cruising down an open road with the windows down or enjoying time spent in the present with those around you. 

We blend the playful feel of retro surf culture with modern comfort. Creating clothes that fun, comfortable and made to be worn everyday (if you want to). Every item we roll out is built to last and tested against our own standard: if it’s not something we’d be stoked to wear, it doesn’t make the cut.

 Encinitas is our home but Flote is for anyone who lives for adventure, connection and a good time. We’re stoked to have you along for the ride !!!
